About the Author
Dr. Kiran Shete

Integrative Medicine Specialist • Orthopaedic Surgeon • Thought Leader
• Speaker • Story-Weaver • Founder, Spinalogy Clinic

Dr Kiran Shete believes that healing is not an event but a journey of becoming. For over two decades, he has been at the intersection of modern medicine and ancient wisdom—studying bones and joints, as well as human behaviour, consciousness, and longevity.

Through his clinical work, research, and the Healthi BEING movement, he aims to make healthcare more humane, more inclusive, and more accessible to everyday people.

The Story Behind the Author

Kiran grew up between two worlds—the disciplined rigour of science and the quiet depth of traditional Indian living. His grandparents taught him simplicity, rhythm, and nature’s truths. Medicine taught him precision, technology, and logic.

It took years before he realised that true health lies in the union of both.

In his orthopaedic practice, he repeatedly saw patients who were not just physically injured—they were emotionally exhausted, mentally scattered, and spiritually empty. Their MRI findings did not match their suffering. Their lab tests did not reflect their lived reality.

This gap between biology and being became his lifelong curiosity.

Orthopaedic Surgeon

  • MBBS from prestigious B J Medical College, Pune and MS Orthopaedics from Pune University. He has also cleared his DNB in orthopaedics and is a member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences.
  • Trained under distinguished mentors, including Padma Bhushan awardee Dr K.H. Sancheti.
  • Fellowship training in non-surgical orthopaedic interventions
  • Deep focus on longevity, lifestyle disorders, chronic pain, sports injuries, and nonsurgical interventions.

Spinalogy Clinic

Kiran founded Spinalogy Clinic with a single belief:
“Most people don’t need surgery. They need clarity, skilful conservative care, and lifestyle correction.”

Today, Spinalogy is a pioneer in:

  • Non-surgical orthopaedics
  • Office orthopaedics
  • Ultrasound-guided procedures
  • Orthobiologics
  • Comprehensive lifestyle-based rehabilitation

Course Director – POOC (Pune Office Orthopaedics Conference)

He leads one of India’s fastest-growing academic platforms for non-surgical orthopaedics, attended by 350+ delegates and 45+ national faculty annually. POOC

POOC celebrates:

  • Practical orthopaedics
  • OPD-focused decision-making
  • Day-to-day real-life clinical solutions
  • Innovation in diagnostics, injections, and patient handling

From Surgeon to Integrative Thinker

Over time, clinical practice revealed one truth repeatedly:
Some patients healed without perfect reports. Some suffered despite perfect reports.
This observation pushed him into deeper study—Neuroscience, Epigenetics, Circadian Biology, Mind–Body Medicine, Upanishadic Philosophy, Meditation and Breath Science, Psychoneuroimmunology and Longevity Science.
This fusion became the core of his teaching and the foundation of the book Healthi BEING.

To take this understanding beyond theory, Dr. Kiran Shete founded the Integrative Lifestyle Initiative—a clinical movement designed to turn knowledge into day-to-day transformation.

Here, medicine is practised not as symptom management but as life management. Patients are guided through posture, movement, breath, sleep, nutrition, emotional hygiene, and mind-body alignment using evidence-based tools. The aim is singular: to help individuals not just recover, but extend their healthspan, regain agency over their wellbeing, and experience what it truly means to be health-lightened.

Why He Wrote Healthi BEING

For Kiran, the book was not a project—it was a responsibility.

Patients kept asking:

  • “Why am I tired even when my tests are normal?”
  • “Why do I feel anxious even when life is stable?”
  • “Why does my pain return despite treatment?”
  • “Why am I losing clarity, focus, or emotional balance?”
He realised that the missing link was not more medicine—it was more understanding of the human being.
Health is not only about the body you treat. It is about the Being you become.

Healthi BEING is a map for that transformation:

  • Panchakosha meets neuroscience
  • Stories meet laboratory tests
  • Ancient epics meet MRI machines
  • Circadian rhythm meets Upanishadic rhythm
  • Emotional knots meet neurobiology

It is a guide for anyone who wants to live longer, clearer, calmer, and more connected to their true self.

Philosophy & Approach

Kiran believes:

  • Health is multi-layered (body, energy, mind, intellect, bliss).
  • Modern science and ancient wisdom are complementary.
  • Chronic disease is often a lifestyle and rhythm disorder, not just an anatomical one.
  • Healing needs agency, awareness, and daily rituals.
  • Simplicity is a powerful medicine.

His approach is often described as:

  • Scientific enough for doctors.
  • Simple enough for parents.
  • Deep enough for seekers.

Personal Life

Beyond his academic and clinical roles, Kiran is:

  • A father
  • A husband
  • A storyteller
  • A lover of nature, long walks, treks, cycling and reflective silence
  • Someone who learns deeply from everyday life—from balloon sellers, farmers, patients, and his own daughters

His favourite definition of health is:

“Health is harmony—when your body moves with ease, your mind thinks with clarity, and your being lives in alignment.”
